Olly's Chickpea and Potato

Lightweight Curry

1 onion chop and fry off slowly.

microwave some smallish potatoes (1/2 a dozen) for 6 minutes

add 2 big cloves of garlic and an inch of ginger root grated

1 hot chilli finely chopped or 2 medium ones

1/2 a cup of water, cook on medium heat 5 mins.

chop the potatoes into 12mm pieces and throw them in.

add spices: 1 teaspoon each of  cumin seeds, ground cumin, turmeric mustard seeds, 2 heaped tsp ground coriander.

1 tin chickpeas

1/2 tsp salt to taste, increase if the chickpeas aren't salted.

Juice of half a lemon.

cook for 20 mins more and thin with a little water if it has gone too thick

eat with chapattis or rice
